Koa doesn't believe that her roommate can hypnotize her, and she's quite rude in letting him know how she feels about it. So he decides to give Koa a demonstration. Koa laughs and taunts him in the beginning of the induction, but she starts to get worried when she can feel herself giving in to the pocket watch and his voice. Eventually Koa goes into a trance and is in fact very deeply hypnotized. So deep that she will obey any command her master gives her, even knocking herself out with a club over the head, or a chloroform soaked rag. Koa retains her skepticism throughout, while awake, but no matter how much she denies being hypnotized, she always ends up back in trance very easily.
